What’s happening in the Health Club and Group Fitness?

Exciting times are ahead of us, as we start working towards re-opening Caulfield Recreation centre under the management of Glen Eira Leisure.               

The Health and Wellbeing team are working hard to ensure a smooth transition, across both the gym and the group fitness programming. I am sure you will see plenty of your regular favourite instructors as well in Tammy, Kate, Libby and Steven.

The first thing you will notice is that our Health Club will be staffed for more hours. That means we will be offering more health club appointments (which are free of course) and we’ll be providing more support and advice to our members whilst they train.

Caulfield Recreation Centre will be closing from Friday  29th September and will be re-opening its doors to the public on Monday 9th October. For current members we are giving you a sneak peek early  from Saturday 7th October.

Changes that you can expect to see;

  • 17 pieces of Technogym cardio equipment, which includes treadmills, bikes, steppers, rowers, x-trainers and more. The cardio equipment will be spread over the downstairs and upstairs training areas.

  • New strength equipment, from Life Fitness. This equipment is very functional and easy to use, and will take your training to the next level, and if you need help please just speak to one of our instructors.

  • In Group Fitness we have re-created the old timetable, whilst also updating the timetable to include some new timeslots (two 6.15am classes during the week for those members that love to train early.  We have also added a 5.45pm timeslot to Monday and Wednesday. All up, we have increased the amount of classes you can attend each week.

  • 11 new IC5 indoor spin bikes, which will provide a more consistent and comfortable ride when participating in our cycle classes.

  • A new sound system will also be installed to enhance the quality of each class.

  • We are also excited to introduce our new Team training program – G45. We have created six different training programs, which will ensure that participants always have a varied workout. G45 is about providing a fun, challenging, team environment where members can improve their fitness and build strong relationships with our coaches and other participants. We have also increased the amount of class on the “premium” timetable, so we hope there will be a time and a program that suits you.
